Don't read the punctuated versions. They are NOT what Emily wrote, and certainly not what she intended others to read. You can find dashed versions at poets.org: http://www.poets.org/viewmedia.php/prmMID/15390
I think you'll find that they affect your breathing more if you read the poems aloud, and in many instances change the subtle meanings of the words. Many of Emily's sly, subtle humor is lost when you overlay punctuation on what she actually wrote.
