Mad Giggler on :
What? You don't like girl sleuths?
Tuesday, September 19. 2006My wonderful evening
So Joey and I have been quite bummed out since we finished watching The West Wing. It was a brilliantly written and acted tv series. While Joey and I never fully agreed with all of the politics we grew to love the characters and plot lines. (And though Joey refuses to admit it publicly, he considers Martin Sheen "his President")
To be fair The West Wing started to go down-hill when the shows creator, writer, and producer, Aaron Sorkin, stopped participating with the show. However my doldrums have ceased! Aaron Sorkin, and his co-executive producer Thomas Schlamee (also from The West Wing), are back! Last night I watched the premier of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Finally there is a smart, funny, witty, well acted show (besides My Name is Earl, and The Office) back on tv. I highly encourage all of you to watch it. Trackbacks

While I don't agree with Radar on The Office (Which amittadly I haven't watched after the first few weeks, and I hear it got a whole lot better after it stopped trying to be a direct copy of the UK version), and I find My Name is Earl to be better than the average crap that's on T.V. and I most definitely agree with Giggler about V. Mars, which IMO is the best show on T.V. right now, I will agree that Studio 60 was very good last night. It was well written, smart and witty, and I expect it to only get better. After the rant during intro to the show, which I won't ruin for those who may want to see it, I was telling Sabrina that one can only hope that Life imitates art, because to be quite honest, I couldn't disagree with a single thing that was said.
It made me start to think of another show that was on a few years ago that I really loved, (Which I found out just about 10 minutes ago was another Aaron Sorkin show.) It's Sports Night (Wikipedia link with spoilers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_Night, tvtorrents isn't loading right now or I'd give a link to that as well.) Unfortunately this show tried to be a dialogue brand of comedy in a time where sit-com was the thing. It doesn't hit on big issues Like West Wing did for politics, and Sunset Strip seems like it will with T.V. but if you find Sorkins brand of television entertaining I highly recommend it.
