That sounds like something I would say, but I don't remember WHEN specifically I said it. Do you?
Friday, August 19. 2005The Gods Themselves
I must say that this book has one of the best dedications I've ever seen. None of that sappy For So and So crap.
Asimov simply dedicates it To Mankind, And the hope that the war aainst folly may someday be won, after all. That, along with the quote used as the chapter section headers("Against stupidity, the gods themsevles contedn in vain") reminds me of one of my favorite Johnny Elbows' quotes "People are stupid, a Person can be smart!" It was when you were working here, and Joey, Myself and you were talking about the stupid things people do (I vaguely remember a freeway story being told), and you popped off with that comment.

I'm really glad so manyof you are enjoying "The Gods Themselves" so much. It's the book that first drew me into Science Fiction. Until I read this book I had been pretty much solely Fantasy.
