Wednesday, October 12. 2005Inevitable Betrayal Tabard
Unfortunately when designing the Guild Tabard, I have to select from some pre-created Icons. So far the best list of available designs is here. I'll look for some of the other designs but check through these and let me know which one(s) you like.

Stuck at work and can't go see Serenity again. Relive it in 2000 Words. Umm of course this does contains spoliers as it details the whole friggin movie. But it's a funny read. I know AoD can relate to a few of the lines.

I even got an extra sig from someone I was playing with last night. We only need 4 more sigs. So remember if you group with someone cool who isn't currently guilded try to convince them to join us, and have them contact Unholyram. Tuesday, October 4. 2005WOW Guild

So I Was thinking about.. Inevitable Betrayal Wednesday, September 28. 2005Serenity
So part of being able to go see Serenity last night was that I post something on our blog about the movie, be it positive or negative. Wanna guess which way I'm going? And no TML I won't spoil it for you.
Having now seen the movie twice, I can say that it easily stands up to multiple viewings. The movie is absolutely what I wanted out of the big screen adaptation of the cancelled series we all love. It's also got enough in there that it draws in people who haven't seen it. At the screening I was at there were a lot of Firefly virgins. On the way out I stopped one of them, who I had overheard say he had never seen the show, and asked him what he thought of the movie. He loved it, said he got everything that was going on, but knew that there's stuff he'd understand more when he saw the DVD's. He wasn't the only one. I overheard a few conversations like that afterwards. I will say this for the movie, Joss raises the stakes to a level rarely seen in movies. Everyone I talked to had the same feeling about it. You'll know what I'm referring to after you've seen it, unfortunately I can't give away anymore now. The movie, is of course a great movie. It's also a great metaphor, for the battle that Joss went through on behalf of the rest of us browncoats to get the movie made. Now it's our part. 80 million worldwide and there will be two more. At the end of 2002 we were left stranded, much like the browncoats were left stranded on Serenity Valley. They thought we'd go quietly, accept it. But then the Amazon.com uprising began. And it was clear that the browncoats were a bunch of rebels that wouldn't go quietly. Universal Studios became our Lafayette. And now the Box Office battle begins. Fortunately for us Joss Whedon has loaded our weapons with some mighty shiny ammo with the movie Serenity. Monday, September 19. 2005Drink Up Me Hearties. Yo Ho!

Wednesday, September 14. 2005I've been meaning to ask....
The title of the Comic Wren and Daboo are doing is Hounds of Annwfn. What exactly is Annwfn? How is it pronounced?
Moreso I'm just using my curiosity to make sure there was a post today, but I'm still curious. It was either that or more pictures of Rosie. Tuesday, September 13. 2005Gone With The Wind
One good thing about being sick the past couple days (Thanks Radar, TML, and Wren), is that I got a chance to see the movie Gone With The Wind for the first time. Unlike the last time I watched a so-called classic movie (Casablanca), I wasn't dissapointed. It was an enjoyable movie, that I really recommend any movie fan to watch.
Tuesday, September 6. 2005Tuesday Morning Overreactions: Let's Get It Started
For all the Randy Moss, and Terrell Owens news mongerers in the NFL there are many more players with tons of class, who don't make the news as often. Fortunately that all changed during the past couple weeks. We all know about Hurricane Katrina that has ravaged New Orleans and the gulf coast, and left many people in dire straits.
Fortunately over the past couple weeks many football stars have been quick to react. Many players have jumped to the call to help out those in need. Players like Peyton Manning could be heard this week calling for help. Even Joe Horn, who of course has at times become T.O. like in his showboating, answered the call to duty. Players weren't the only ones helping out. Throughout the league, many of this past weekends home teams donated a portion of the ticket proceeds to help out those in New Orleans. It's been said many times over the last couple weeks that a situation like this puts football and all sports into perspective and lets us know what's really important. It's good to see the NFL and it's players coming through to help out those who really need it. And so it seems the "Session" saga comes to an end, at the same spot where it all started.
Saturday, September 3. 2005A Utah Man Am I
Well the first game of the University of Utah Football season has come and gone. Unfortunately due to time constraints, I couldn't get fully prepared.
The Utes themselves, had a bit of rust, especially in the second half when the defense began to wear down, while the Offense became ineffective. Considering this was a huge chance for a let down game after the joy that was last season, and going against a Pac-10 team, the fact that the Utes came away with a 27-24 win is good. Fortunately next week is Utah State, so that the team can work out some kinks. There were flashes of last years brilliance, but there were also flashes of pre-Urban Utes Football. At least the crowd was rocking once they got into it. 3rd largest crowd in Ute history. It's good to keep this tradition going. Even if it is just new. Let's Go Utes. |
