Not long ago I was in my local Smith's Marketplace grocery store making my weekly purchases. I have a system to get through the store in the least amount of time all while hitting all the areas that contain the items I need to purchase. This time since I wasn't in any hurry I decided to just wander all of the aisles. During my meandering I hit the canned Italian pasta section and noticed that Chef Boyardee had a sale on their products. The priced seemed just right and so I purchased the beef ravioli and the beef lasagna.
Well last night I decided that this was the time to try the lasagna. I can say that my expectation was high. I mean come on it's Chef Boyardee, of course it must be good. Boy was I ever mistaken. It was disgusting. I think it may have actually curdled in my stomach. I would never encourage bulimia for anyone, but I seriously thought about "purging" that dinner. So in conclusion, don't purchase these items because they are gross. Unless you want to give them to children. They will like it for sure, since they do not have developed taste-buds. [Ed: Posted on behalf of Johnny Elbows because '(*Company Name*) internet is terrible']
Here's something for the real food masochists Friday, February 13. 2009It's happening. It's really happening...
About two weeks ago my nephew Jon left a message on my answering machine telling me that he had heard a rumor through a reliable source that In-N-Out was making plans to come to Salt Lake City. I had heard those rumors before, and thought nothing of it. As a matter of fact I didn't even call my nephew back - oops, sorry Jonny.
Then this morning I was listening in bed to KSL's morning radio news program and they had a story about In-N-Out coming to Draper. I checked their website for the story only to find nothing. I was frustrated. Then Mad Giggler IM'ed me a link to the Salt Lake Tribune, confirming the "rumors" I had heard. They are finally coming. My entire afternoon I kept reliving the taste of a Double Double animal style in my mouth. I may have even cried in joy. Thursday, February 12. 2009For the food masochists among us...
I was listening to the Nightside Project last night. The segment I happened to hear was the "Click-Chick." Every week she goes through a few websites of interest. Last night it was This is why you're fat. New photos get uploaded all the time.
Bon Appetit. Wednesday, October 8. 2008Crazy Lady Does it Again
So a while ago I wrote about some Crock Pot Fajitas from a recipe by a woman named Zonya Foco. I personally think this lady is nuts. But she has a nice message and she has given me a couple of good ideas for healthy alternatives.
Recently I was watching her show and she made a Simple Summer Fresh Fruit Pie. It looked scrumptious and fantastic. So I decided to make it as well. It is super easy to make. All you need is fresh fruit of your choice, jello gelatin, and instant jello pudding. Below the fold are a few pics of it to help you see how yummy it was. Well, I swore in my wrath against AoD, that I would only post on the weekends to screw with the blog statistics. But it looks like I found one thing that would change my mind - In-N-Out Burger. I was listening to the Nightside Project tonight and they had a story about the very first In-N-Out restaurant in Utah.
It has always been an item of myth and lore that In-N-Out was going to come to Utah. It is no hoax!! You can see it on their website. Soon they shall be here. testing V Chocolates referrer system Saturday, April 5. 2008Fajitas, Zonya style
I was watching tv one Saturday about a month or so ago when I came across a show on the local PBS station that looked interesting: Zonya's Health Bites. I'll admit that I was just in a mood to not do anything that day because normally I would not have watched that show. Frankly I think Zonya is a total nut. But her message of healthy eating and exercise is fantastic.
Part of the episode that day was to show how to cook healthy Crock Pot Fajitas. As I watched her cook that recipe, I was struck by two things: 1. that the food looked really good, and 2. it was easy enough that I could do it! So I decided to make the attempt. This post shall be my review of this recipe on a few criterion. Though it is a little long, I hope you enjoy it. Continue reading "Fajitas, Zonya style" |
