So if you guys remember back a few weeks ago I requested some book ideas as I wanted to start a new book which sparked
the
best argument over a comment thread that this blog has ever seen. AoD made a joke using some material from the
Princess Bride. It sparked a recommendation that someone had once given me, so I decided to go with it.
Big
Mistake!

Continue reading "Book versus Movie... Movie wins!"

First of all, check out this cool quest
reward in the BC. Obviously only available to the Horde...it's creepy and cool.

Second of all, while we're talking about books, you MUST READ THIS BOOK! It starts out a little slow, but once it gets rolling it's one of the best
books I've read. It's by Sandman author Neil Geiman, so you know it's going to be something different, and it's
awesome! If you have ever heard any Anansi stories, he is the spider trickster of African legends. All trickster legends
from Africa originate with Anansi, even those that have been later (erroneously) given to such imposters as Brer Rabbit.

I know several of you have expressed...lukewarm interest at best in revitalizing the Book Club. However, I am currently
about halfway through Neal Stephenson's The Diamond Age: Or, a Young Lady's
Illustrated Primer, and I cannot find the words to express how much I'm enjoying it. The way it combines near-future
SciFi, socio-political issues, the monomyth, and children's fairytales into a cohesive structure is amazingly beautiful,
and his ability to keep all the content approachable while writing a deep narrative is rare. This absolutely goes on my
list of "Must Read" books, if just for the way he brings it all together, and I encourage you all to make time to read
it this holiday season.

At the same time, I came across an article which I suspect some of you will be interested in that was shockingly
relevant to the material in the book -- printing organs using the same technique as "inkjet printers".
