In the past few months, I may have suggested to some of you that Bones was a TV show you should be watching. I believe I even told MG that it was better than a lot of the stuff I was already watching.

Well, I have just finished Season 03 of Bones, and I'd like to officially and publicly withdraw anything positive I may have said about this show. I cannot believe that they thought people would just accept their proposed "conclusion" to the season-long serial killer story line, and I will not be watching it if it returns to television this fall. It's AMAZING how quickly they were able to ruin this gem.

If you had already started watching it on my recommendation, I apologize and suggest you redirect those energies elsewhere. I don't think anyone could find it a satisfying conclusion to what should have been a great TV show.

Also, as a fan of Japanese games shows, I thought I Survived A Japanese Gameshow was pretty good when it wasn't being bogged down by the Reality TV Crap.

Fox released the return date of The Sarah Connor Chronicles today. Figured some might be interested. It'll return on September 8.

In other news. Bones will make it's return on September 3.

The Simpsons

So, pretend I'm someone who's not watched very many episodes of "The Simpsons", and has decided to see what he's missing.

Now, envision that I tried to watch Season 01 and found the artwork and humour unbearable.

Of course, you're going to be reading through the filter of "Things AoD Finds Interesting" - regardless of whether "interesting" means "Oh, MAN! HOW ARE YOU NOT WATCHING THIS?!" Lost Season Four: From the Podcast

Season 4 is about who gets off the island and the fact that they need to get back. Season 5 is about why they need to get back, and season 6 is about what happens when they get back.

We definitely have to show who was in the coffin. That's the primary superstructure of the season.

News about "Lost", Season 4

The WGA strike is officially over. The 48 hour formal vote ended today with a 92.5% mandate. See industry source Daily Variety for full details.
In immediate fallout, Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse met with his bosses at ABC about continuing Season 4, and reported the results of that meeting with TV Guide's Ausiello in an exclusive interview.

The two main points from that interview:
1) The aim is to produce FIVE more episodes of Season 4. This is three fewer than the eight scheduled before the strike occurred; the season's total will be 13 eps.
2) The entire order of 48 episodes for Seasons 4-5-6 will still be delivered-- that leaves 35 episodes to be split between Seasons 5-6.

Season 4 is to be re-written to end with the same storyline elements as previously written, but in only 5 episodes. The three "lost" Lost episodes will somehow fill in the story arc of the remaining last two seasons...there will be at least a 4 week hiatus between the broadcast of 4x08 and the new 4x09

Reports are trickling in that the WGA strike might be over as soon as Friday.

From TFA:

An official settlement means new episodes of such popular TV programs as House, Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives could be back as soon as late March.

Studios Concede Season to Strike

The Los Angeles Times reported on Tuesday that the big 5 studios have cancelled many of the contracts of striking writers, "conceding that the current television season cannot be salvaged".

As January is usually the time that writers begin to plot the next season of current shows as well as pitch new pilots, next season is starting to be put at risk. Perhaps the most damning piece of information is the last sentence, slipping in like a shadow to announce:

No new talks have been scheduled.

First, the good news of Whedon returning back to TV.

But before that can happen, enjoy your scripted shows now while you can, because an impending writer's strike could mean more reruns, and reality crap in the near future.
