Well Round 1 has come and gone. It was an interesting recap.
Here's some of the highlights.
Both Manning's did indeed meltdown, yet only one went home this weekend. Interestingly enough it was the Manning who
played better that got sent packing.
The Media's replacement for Brett Favre as the Golden Boy, Tony Romo, bobbled an easy snap and caused his team the
Dallas Cowboys to be eliminated.
Belichick proved once again who was the ream Mangenions between him and Mangini.
And Anon's risky gamble of picking Tiger Woods fails to pay off as Vijay Singh shot a final round 70 to win the
Mercedes Championship by two strokes.
1st Round Standings below.
Radar - 4-0
Mad Giggler - 4-0
Andy - 3-1
Bling Bling - 3-1
Sideshow - 2-2
Anon - 0-1
See you next week.

Now that the Holidays are finally past us (Yay!) it's time for the TRUE most wonderful time of the year.....
The NFL Playoffs.
And just like last year I say we do a picks pool.
So I'll Start with a rundown of this weekends Matchups, and My pick will be in bold.
Kansas City @ Indianapolis - This game can be summed up by two words, roughly 30-35 times during the
game. Larry Johnson. Here's 5 more words for you. Another Peyton Manning Playoff Disaster. Sorry AoD.
Dallas @ Seattle - Seattle is not a playoff team, or they wouldn't be in the NFC West was anything
other than a horrible football division. Dallas is falling apart, but will manage enough to scrape by and prevent the
Bi-Polar Express' meltdown for another week.
New York Jets @ New England - Was Mangini the true Man-genious of the Patriot dynasty? No, but
talking heads will say it if the Jets win. Fortunately the Patriots will win this week.
New York Giants @ Philadelphia - Philly is playing the best football in the NFC right now, and are the
most complete team in the conference. They start their run to the Superbowl this weekend, taking the same route the
other Pennsylvania team took last year. Meanwhile we'll be set for a special treat as Elder Manning, will be in the
sidelines to see just how much Younger Manning has learned, as Eli meltsdown.
If you want in post your picks/commentary in the comments section.

So every now and then, you see something that lets you know there is such a thing as Karmic Justice. One such instance
was spotted on Saturday. I was at the Fanzz store in the Welfare Mall. On the wall they had their usual assortment of
NFL Jerseys. Then there were the two stacks of #81 Eagles Terrell Owens Jersey, one for his home jersey, the other for
his away jersey. In front of each stack of jerseys, was a nice big 50% off sign, only for the Owens Jerseys.
Made me laugh for a good little while.

Well the first game of the University of Utah Football season has come and gone. Unfortunately due to time constraints,
I couldn't get fully prepared.
The Utes themselves, had a bit of rust, especially in the second half when the defense began to wear down, while the
Offense became ineffective. Considering this was a huge chance for a let down game after the joy that was last season,
and going against a Pac-10 team, the fact that the Utes came away with a 27-24 win is good. Fortunately next week is
Utah State, so that the team can work out some kinks. There were flashes of last years brilliance, but there were also
flashes of pre-Urban Utes Football.
At least the crowd was rocking once they got into it. 3rd largest crowd in Ute history. It's good to keep this
tradition going. Even if it is just new.
Let's Go Utes.

Had this little news blurb sent to me.
Smith, 55, of Pittsburgh, died of prostate cancer Thursday.
Because his death wasn't unexpected, his family was able to plan for
an unusual viewing Tuesday night.
The Samuel E. Coston Funeral Home erected a small stage in a
viewing room, and arranged furniture on it much as it was in Smith's
home on game day Sundays.
Smith's body was on the recliner, his feet crossed and a remote in his
hand. He wore black and gold silk pajamas, slippers and a robe. A pack
of cigarettes and a beer were at his side, while a high-definition TV
played a continuous loop of Steelers highlights.
"I couldn't stop crying after looking at the Steeler blanket in his
lap," said his sister, MaryAnn Nails, 58. "He loved football and
nobody did [anything] until the game went off. It was just like he was
at home."
Longtime friend Mary Jones called the viewing "a celebration."
"I saw it and I couldn't even cry," she said. "People will see him the
way he was."
Smith's burial plans were more traditional — he'll be laid to rest in a casket.
Exchange the Steelers pajamas, for some Rams pajamas, minus the beer and smokes, and this could very well be me when I
die.

Okay so the title was inspired by Mad Giggler's recent post. Truth is, I've been wanting to type something for a couple
days but couldn't think of what it was. Looking at the site, I notice there's a fair amount about T.V., Movies. Lots
of Poetry, and now a post about Books. There's obviously not enough stuff about Whedon, Buffy, Angel, Firefly or
Serenity. But there's absolutely nothing about Sports. More Importantly nothing about Football.
So I'm ending that. Although It won't be too much of a comment as My Annual League Preview will be up in about a
month. Now that the atrocity that was the NBA Finals is over, the NHL still is ceasing to exist, and MLB is pointless
before the last month or so (I mean come one 162 games, is it really necessary for that long of a season?), we're stuck
in a dead zone of sports. There's no real scoreboard watching to be done anymore, and about the only newsworthy
articles over the next couple weeks will be the NBA Free Agency, but that won't last long.
70 Days until the Defending SuperBowl Champion New England Patriots(Man I hate typing that), start the season by facing
the Oakland Raiders, and head case Randy Moss. That still seems like a long time, Heck that's only 22 less days, than
the countdown to Serenity's release. Fortunately in less than a month teams will begin reporting to Training Camp,
which means we'll start to get football related news. And not just reports about that cry baby T.O. griping that he
needs to have his 7 year contract, that he signed only last year, reworked so he can better provide for his family.
We'll get real news. News that will help inspire the hope of fans of all 32 teams.
You see the beautiful thing about the NFL is all teams start the season thinking they can actually go all the way this
year. Heck even the 49ers, who went 2-14 last year, are talking playoffs, though they are mainly just fooling
themselves. It's not like the MLB where the teams with the money can buy their way into competition. It's not like the
NBA, where fans of Atlanta, and Clippers went into last year without hope. It's not like the NHL, because they NFL
actually plays games. In the NFL parity reigns supreme. Afterall last year's New England Patriots was only the 2nd
time 6 years that the SuperBowl Champion had even made the playoffs the previous year. Even the Cincinatti Bengals, who
used to be the laughing stock of the league, has put together two non losing seasons in a row.
In the NFL hope springs eternal. At least during the spring, because come fall the Rams will crush all . (See even I
can rhyme)
