Since Sideshow is busy losing weight in an unhealthy way today, I think it's time to post picks for this weekend's
playoff games. Remember to post your picks in the comments section below.
First up, we have Indianapolis at Baltimore. Strength goes against strength as Indy's (regular season) high powered offense goes against the league's top defense. Can Steve McNair make the difference against the Colts suddenly spry defense? I say. . .no. I'm rooting for a rematch of Indy vs. New England in the AFC championship here, so I have to choose Indianapolis over Baltimore. The second game on Saturday will be Philadelphia at New Orleans. The Saints have been referred to as "America's team", and have benefited from a lot of great karma. The Eagles on the other hand have some karma of their own in the form of a possible Ewing Theory as a rejuvenated Jeff Garcia has replaced Donovan McNabb. The Eagles are also in high spirits after seeing That One Receiver banished to the off-season. I like Drew Brees, but the Eagles have much more playoff experience. I have a feeling Philly will be in South Florida later this month, so I'm picking Philadelphia over New Orleans. Sunday morning will bring the ugly match-up of Seattle at Chicago. The Seahawks should feel fortunate just to be in the playoffs, let alone the Divisional Round. I will never understand how they managed to overcome both the Madden Cover Curse and the SuperBowl Loser Curse in the same season. Unfortunately, I don't think their mojo will be enough to overcome the Bear's defense. Thankfully, Rex Grossman will keep things close on into the final quarter. Sadly, I have to go with Chicago over Seattle in this one. Our final game this weekend is the one most sports writers seem intrigued by, as New England visits sunny San Diego. I'm a bit of a homer for this game, so I won't go into my man-crush on Tom Brady. New England will scrap out a win here against Marty Chokenheimer. Trackbacks

Unlike Manning, McNair has actually led his team to a Superbowl. Also Manning is pretty bad in he playoffs on the road.
Baltimore wins their first game on their road to representing the AFC in the Super Bowl.
The dream ends this weekend for New Orleans who have been the feel good story of the season. But it's playoffs now, and that low ranked pass defense just isn't enough. Don't look too much into the Eagles only winning by a figgie last week. Divisional games are always tougher than they should be. Philly wins, and going away. Seattle is lucky to be here. Chicago will pressure the WR's and the drops will come back. Chicago wins, with Rex still looking awful. Marty Chokenheimer is always a dangerous pick in the playoffs, and Philip Rivers is playing poorly lately. But the Chargers will ride L.T. to the Conference championship, where Chokenheimer can really come out in full force. Comments (4)

I see Indy plowing through Baltimore and winning in Foxboro (after the Schott drops another post-season bomb) on the way
to their first Superbowl win against Chicago, who barely defeated Seattle but had an easy time of it against the weak
Saints defense; but it's close, as Grossman goes down after the fourth time he's sandwiched between Freeny and Reagor
and Brian Griese comes in and actually challenges the Colts secondary before collapsing under the pressure.
Andy Reid retires from the Eagles and loses 100 poounds nearly overnight, becoming the latest Coach-cum-TV-celeb, probably for CBS. Three of the five Colts offensive line either retire or accept deals from another team, annoucing that Manning has been paying them on the side for the past three years to stick around and help him win "just one, guys...PLEASE?!" Tiki Barber runs for (and wins) the Senate Seat "that woman" gives up when she announces her candidacy for President, shortly before she is laughed off the stage at the DNC, where Nancy Pelosi gets the nod (with Barack Obama as VP), later becoming the first female President of the USA (and the last for two decades as she is generally considered weak a President weak on both crime and foreign policy). With both the economy and the Republican party re-invigorated, and after finally withdrawing from Iraq, America finally closes her borders, citing increased internat... you're only down by three? Who does that? I'll tell you: Andy Reid. GAAAAHHHHH!

Not to nit pick, but in order for the Colts and Patriots to play each other in the AFC Championship it would actually be
in the RCA Dome this year, since the colts are the #3 seed, and the Pats the #4 seed.

Andy Reid is just Tony Dungy #2. Can't really coach in the playoffs and won't win the big one.
